Flowcode Compiler For PIC Microcontrollers

Flowcode Screen

Flowcode Screen

  • Fast & flexible Flowcode has a host of high level component subroutines which means rapid system development. The flowchart programming method allows users of all abilities to develop microcontroller programs.
  • Easy to use interface Simply drag and drop icons on-screen to create an electronic system without writing traditional code line by line.
  • Save time and money Flowcode facilitates the rapid design of electronic systems based on microcontrollers.
Flowcode is a very high level language programming system for PICmicro microcontrollers based on flowcharts.

Flowcode allows newcomers to programming to design and simulate complex robotics and control systems in a matter of minutes.

Flowcode is a powerful language that uses macros to facilitate the control of complex devices like 7-segment displays, motor controllers, and LCD displays. The use of macros allows students to control highly complex electronic devices without getting bogged down in understanding the programming involved. Flowcode is a powerful rapid development tool and is also useful as a means of introducing the need for C and assembly programming.

New features in version 4 include:
  • Components: LEDs, switches, keypads, LCDs, Grpahical color LCD, Graphical mono LCDs, Sensors, 7-segment displays, Internal EEPROM, comms systems
  • Panel Designer: Design a panel of your choice on-screen and simulate it.
  • Circuit Simulator: When used with EB006 PICmicro multiprogrammer, or FlowKit.
  • Error free results Flowcode works. What you design and simulate on screen is the result you get when you download to your microcontroller.
  • Switch Icon
  • Floating Point
  • Additional string functions
  • Watchdog timer support
  • New targets
  • Fast USB Development

Professional version include RS232 comms, IDRA comms, Keypad control, multiple servo control, on-board EEPROM routines.

CD ROM contents
To help you learn how to use Flowcode we provide you with two great resources: Firstly the CD ROM includes almost 30 example files containing examples from how to get an output on a single LED through to how to create a 24 hour clock. Secondly each CD ROM is shipped with Flowcourse: a complete web based tutorial system for using Flowcode, which included hundreds of photographs, diagrams, and further worked examples on using the PICmicro microcontroller and Flowcode.

28 pin PIC 18 ECIO

28 pin PIC 18 ECIO

Key Features:

  • Programmable from USB
  • Compatible with a free version of Flowcode
  • Includes bootloader software
  • Can draw power from USB

The ECIO™ is a powerful USB programmable microcontroller with a 28 pin DIL (0.6") footprint. It provides an incredibly simple way of adopting microcontroller technology into your projects. The device behaves just like a normal 18 series PICmicro microcontroller - but when you plug the USB lead in and press the reset switch you can send a new program to the device. This makes the ECIO one of the lowest cost USB programmers in the World.

PIC Projects for Non-Programmers by John Iovine

PIC Projects for Non-Programmers

Complete, do-it-yourself PIC microcontroller projects!
  • Gets readers up and running fast with a quick review of basics and then on to ten tried-and-tested projects
  • No languages to learn: Simply drag and drop the icons, plug in the settings and the PIC will respond to the commands
  • Step-by-step guide to using Flowcode 4.5

Successful Author, John Iovine, has created his next masterwork with PIC Projects for Non-Programmers. Engineers and hobbyists new to the PIC who want to create something today will finda valuable resource in this book. Along with ten projects from LCD screens to PC and then to PIC communication, readers can use a symbolic compiler that will allow them to create "code" via flowcharts immediately, and get their projects up and running quickly. The ability to create applications with the PIC from day one makes this a real page turner. The Flowcode 4.5 software is available on a companion website free of charge.
